Free Christmas Things To Do In San Antonio
With New Year and holidays just around the corner, it’s time to get into the Christmas spirit. If you’re looking for something free and fun to do in San Antonio – you’re at the right place.
Here’s what you can do this winter in San Antonio for free:
Ford Fiesta de las Luminarias
Date: Friday, December 4th, 2015 7:00PM – December 20th, 2015 10:00PM
Perfect venue for family holidays or for a romantic getaway. Take a stroll along the beautiful San Antonio River surrounded by thousands of Luminarias. Luminarias represent a traditional Mexican Christmas lantern and a centuries old tradition that looks simply surreal. You can sit by the banks of the river or go to a nearby restaurant.
Old Gruene market days
Date: Saturday, December 5th – Sunday, December 6th, 10:00AM – 5:00PM
Gruene market days have been held every month (except January) for over 30 years. Here you and your family will be able to see over 100 people selling handmade items made by themselves, such as unique jewelry, Christmas decorations, clothes, as well as packaged Texas foods. The parking and the admission are both free, and there will be live entertainment as well.
Winterfest Helotes
Date: Saturday December 5, 12210 Leslie Road, Helotes 78023, 10AM – 6PM
Winterfest Helotes is a relatively new celebration (founded in 2013) with the goal to connect San Antonio community during this special time of year. Although there is no snow in San Antonio, here you will have the chance to experience the snow, horse carriages and pony rides, all sorts of food, live entertainment, and much more. And the best thing is – everything is for free!
